Activities of OSCE special missions in Ukraine

The article is devoted to the analysis of the activities of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) in Ukraine with an emphasis on two periods: 1994–1999 (2002) and 2014–2022. The article emphasizes the impact of OSCE special missions in Ukraine on security, stability and conflict resolution, as well as analyzes the 1994 mission in Crimea, which was aimed at monitoring the observance of human rights, supporting democratic reforms, establishing dialogue and cooperation between the conflicting parties. Despite some achievements, unresolved issues remain, and the human rights situation has worsened since Russia's annexation of Crimea in 2014. At the same time, the article talks about the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission in Ukraine, which monitors the armed ceasefire, protects human rights and provides support for democratic reforms in Ukraine since 2014.

State regulation is an indispensable condition for the development of the agrarian sector of the economy. State regulation of the agricultural sector in the EU countries is based on Common Agricultural Policy. The objectives of CAP set for the period 2014-2020 are [1, p. 11]: general objectives - viable food production, sustainable management of natural resources and climate action, balanced territorial development; specific objectives - enhance farm income, improve agricultural competitiveness, provide environmental public goods, pursue climate change mitigation and adaptation, maintain agricultural diversity across the EU.
Military and defense cooperation between Ukraine and the USA at the current stage

This article examines the history of military and defense cooperation between Ukraine and the United States since 2014. It analyzes changes in the approach of cooperation in these spheres; it also examines the transformation of U.S. views on cooperation in these spheres after the start of full-scale war in 2022.It will also consider the assistance the U.S. has shown over the past nine years to stop the conflict and help restore territorial integrity to Ukraine; also mention will be made of Washington's actions to prevent a full-scale war on the territory of Ukraine.
Military doctrines of Ukraine 1993, 2004, 2015, 2021: comparative analysis

The Military Doctrine of Ukraine is an essential component of its national security policy, which aims to ensure the timely identification, prevention, and neutralization of threats to Ukraine's national interests. It is precisely for this reason the need to have a firm understanding of this document is dire. The purpose of this article is to analyze the scale and quality of changes introduced to the Military Doctrines of Ukraine over decades, and the underlying reasons for the specific differences. In order to do so, the text of four mentioned doctrines was analyzed with the aim of spotting the changes in language and priorities in said documents, which could reflect a response to new or emerging, as for their respective times, threats. Substantive shifts in their understanding of concepts, such as security and the methods suggested for its provision was also looked for. The article finds that the doctrine as a document has undergone significant changes, particularly after the events of 2014, when russian Federation occupied parts of Ukrainian territory. The evolution underwent by the document in the span of 1993-2021 can be generally described as a process of its actualization, concretization and merger of theory with practicality.
Prospects for the restoration of Ukraine's state sovereignty over the Crimean peninsula: political and diplomatic aspects

The article focuses on the main international political and diplomatic aspects of the annexation by one State, namely the Russian Federation, of a part of another sovereign State, Ukraine. Moreover, this aspect is based on the evolution of Ukraine's reaction to the fact of occupation. The annexation of the Crimean Peninsula is the first forced border shift of a State in Europe. The invading State justifies these actions by referring to the ethnic and historical ties between Russia and Crimea, basing its aggression on the right of peoples to self-determination. The peaceful coexistence of States and various nationalities within the European Union, the United States, Asia and the Middle East is now under threat. In particular, Ukraine needs active, and preferably proactive, opposition of our state to the legalization of the annexation of Crimea. Its cornerstone should be a consistent, systemic and consolidated policy of non-recognition. It was proved that Russia's actions are a threat not only to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, but also to the foundations of the world legal order. Speaking about the reaction of international actors, the official statements made by governments are different. If you believe them, Russia did the same in international law in Crimea as Saddam Hussein did in Kuwait in 1991: militarily confiscated foreign territory and added it to its own. The annexation at that time, one recalls, inflicted a massive military attack on its originator. Nowadays, international society is confronted with the fact that the conflict that occurred in Ukraine might be repeated in any other State, especially if it was previously a part of the Soviet Union or is a part of the sphere of interests of Russia. Also the article underlines that only a democratic Ukraine with stable, efficient and accountable institutions will be a strong and prosperous Ukraine capable of stopping external aggression and restoring peace.

The article shortly summarizes the worldsystem theory of Immanuel Wallerstein and the evolutionary modernization theory of Ronald Inglehart, and investigates the applicability of the latter for the international relations. It is claimed that a synthesis of both theories is possible. The implications of such an approach are presented in the conclusions.
The comparison of the Great Depression on the territory of Ukraine and the USA

The article is about problems that two countries had been solving during the Great Depression. The Great Depression had devastating effects in both rich and poor countries. Personal income, tax revenue, profits and prices dropped, while international trade fell by more than 50 %. Unemployment in the U.S. rose to 23% and in some countries rose as high as 33 %.The author emphasizes on comparison of these two situations.
The concept of neutrality / non-alignment in Ukraine’s politics

The purpose of this article is to analyze the role of neutrality/non-alignment concept in Ukraine's politics during its independence. The author came into conclusion that the implementation of the neutrality/non-alignment policy had extremely ambiguous, even more negative consequences for the existence of Ukraine until 2022, and that this approach will no longer be able to guarantee Ukraine’s full security in the context of the ongoing war with the Russian Federation, which has significantly weakened the Ukrainian state in political, economic and military terms.
The perspectives of Ukraine's membership in NATO: the background of russian aggression

This text contains a comprehensive analysis of Ukraine's potential integration into the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). It examines the merits and demerits of Ukraine's aspirations for NATO membership, highlights the main issues at stake, and the current challenge of Russian aggression against Ukraine. The article outlines the advantages of joining NATO, the potential for strengthening security through collective defence and enhanced deterrence of aggression. In addition, the text discusses the shortcomings and challenges associated with NATO membership aspirations: it examines the concerns expressed by some member states about Ukraine's real readiness and the need for significant military and institutional reforms. The article examines the importance or unimportance of resolving territorial disputes and other problems, which are noted by the alliance as key in speeding up the entire process of acquiring membership and as a result - strengthening regional stability. The central place in the discussion is occupied by the problem of Russian aggression against Ukraine. The text examines the ongoing conflict between the two countries as the reason for the impossibility of joining NATO, answers the question "What is the real cornerstone in the impossibility of Ukraine to become a member of the alliance as of today?" and expresses an opinion regarding further actions of the alliance in the conditions of an unstable geopolitical conjuncture.
The role of international organizations in maintaining peace and security after 2022: problems and prospects

The article provides an analysis of the effectiveness of international organizations in ensuring international security and peace against the background of the ongoing large-scale invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation. Significant attention is paid to the fundamental international institutions that are actively acting during the war in Ukraine, such as the UN, the IAEA, the International Society of the Red Cross and Red Crescent, and the International Criminal Court. As part of the analysis, the problem of the effectiveness of organizations as actors of international relations after the collapse of the bipolar system of the world and the collapse of the world order during the "Cold War" period is considered. In particular, the article highlights the possible reasons for the decrease in the influence of international institutions over the last decades on solving critical humanitarian issues, making important political decisions, and issues of war, peace and security in the world. As examples for evaluating the activities of international organizations, their activities in the face of the main challenges of the international security system in recent years are cited: the full-scale war in Ukraine and the Covid-19 pandemic.
The role of the annexation of Crimea by the Russian Federation in the Turkish-Russian relations

The article analyzes the impact of the annexation of Crimea on the development of the Turkish-Russian relations. It highlights the issue of Russia violating the rights of the Crimean Tatars and presents it as the main source of concern for Turkey. At the same time, the article demonstrates how Ankara takes advantage from the increased economic cooperation with Moscow after the Western sanctions were imposed on Russia.
The role of the United Nations In Resolving the conflict between Ukraine and Russia

Ukraine’s membership perspective to the European Union

Стаття присвячена аналізу перспектив для вступу України до складу Європейського Союзу. Повномасштабне російське вторгнення в Україну 24 лютого 2022 року підняло питання вступу України до ЄС на порядок денний і пришвидшило усі процеси, повʼязані з цим. Проєвропейський вектор Київ обрав давно і це підтверджено рядом документів, які були опубліковані за час незалежної України. Незважаючи на те, що війна дуже сильно впливає на спроможність держави вступити у цей блок, Україна є доволі амбітним субʼєктом міжнародних відносин і активно висловлює свою позицію щодо цього. Москва не хоче допустити подальшого розширення ЄС, тому на цій основі виникає багато ускладнень, що стосуються можливості України стати членом блоку. Не дивлячись на те, що, завдяки всезагальному Договору про Асоціацію з ЄС від 2014 року, Україна вже інтегрована в деякі структури Європейського Союзу, включаючи економіку, вільний ринок, транспортну систему, енергетику і вільне пересування громадян, все ще залишаються сумніви щодо того, чи може цей Договір стати відповідною основою під час процесу вступу. Аналітичний звіт Єврокомісії у 2022 році зробив висновки щодо того, наскільки Україна відповідає Копенгагенському критерію. Згідно з ним, Києву треба докласти ще багато зусиль задля того, щоб подолати корупцію і провести усі необхідні реформи, проте вже зараз є аспекти, в яких Україна стоїть «попереду» багатьох європейських держав. Авторка статті детально розглядає такі основні фактори, як: безпека, право і економіка, а також імовірні сценарії розвитку подій залежно від наявної в світі ситуації. Російська агресія показала необхідність консолідації демократичних країн, важливість вміння вчитися на помилках минулого і докладати зусиль задля того, щоб зберігати мир і знаходити рішення до нових викликів більше ефективно.
Актуальність демпінгу і антидемпінгових процедур в епоху постправди

В результаті дослідження виявлено, що, хоча кількість антидемпінгових розслідувань, розпочатих у 2017 році, зменшилась у порівнянні з попереднім роком, – в той же час, в сучасну епоху «постправди», існує тенденція до посилення використання антидемпінгової політики на світових товарних ринках. У свою чергу, можна припустити, що збільшення активності антидемпінгової діяльності може стати наслідком політики «постправди» в цілому. Показники, що аналізуються в статті, чітко свідчать, що ті держави, які спочатку були основними цілями заходів країн, які традиційно застосовували антидемпінгове законодавство, – зараз, в епоху «постправди», вводять власне протекціоністське законодавство та застосовують його на свою користь.

Автор детально розглядає підходи двох президентів до ізраїльсько-палестинського конфлікту та їхню політику щодо Ізраїлю. Значна увага приділяється безпрецедентній підтримці Ізраїлю за часів Трампа, зокрема, визнанню Єрусалиму столицею та суверенітету над Голанськими висотами. Натомість, автор аналізує курс Байдена на відновлення ідеї створення палестинської держави та більш збалансованого ставлення до конфлікту.

У статті аналізується процес підготовки та реалізації мирної ініціативи адміністрації Д. Трампа під назвою «Мир заради процвітання: бачення покращення життя палестинського та ізраїльського народів». З’ясовано, що практична імплементація цього плану призвела б до появи позбавленого національних прагнень палестинського суспільства, що навряд чи змогло б укріпити довгостроковий мир в багатостраждальному регіоні Близького Сходу та гарантувати появу Палестинської держави в майбутньому.
