This article is devoted to the analysis of the information component of the process of Britain's exit from the EU: causes, conditions, stages and consequences; coverage of this process in periodicals, newspaper publications, and publications on the Internet. Despite the wave of forecasts that has risen around Brexit, today we have the following result - the UK has left the European Union. The main and decisive step in this direction was the referendum of 2016, which split British society into two camps: those who voted against EU membership; and those who voted to keep the country in the EU. Analyzing Brexit's internal information campaign, it should be noted that the broad coverage of the referendum in the media deepened the polarization of the British population and worked to increase the number of supporters of the country's withdrawal from the European Union. In terms of the impact of information technology, Brexit has become another example of skillful speculation in facts and figures, the successful creation and dissemination of unverified "viral information" through the media, which have become an effective tool for manipulating public sentiment. The example of Brexit demonstrated how to take the success of such campaigns to a new level, using all kinds of media, through which you can introduce into the information space of certain political figures, to promote the necessary narratives and slogans.
