dc.description.abstractЦя стаття присвячена культурологічному аналізу виражальних засобів кінематографа та телебачення у тоталітарних країнах XX столітті. Аналізується використання псевдореалізму, гігантоманії та маніпулятивного монтажу, які слугували для надання ідеології вигляду природної істини. Досліджується трансформація екранних медіа в головні інструменти пропаганди, ідеологічного контролю та «психологічної інженерії» масової свідомості. Визначено, що особливість цих засобів полягає не стільки в художніх прийомах, скільки в їхній повній функціональній підпорядкованості меті – створенню утопічного міфу та ідеологічної «метареальності». uk
dc.description.abstractThis article is dedicated to the culturological analysis of the expressive means utilized by cinema and television within the totalitarian countries of the 20th century, including the USSR, Nazi Germany, and Fascist Italy. The study investigates the deliberate and effective transformation of screen media into primary instruments of propaganda, ideological control, and the “psychological engineering” of mass consciousness. The core argument is that the singularity of these expressive means lays not so much in the deployment of specific artistic techniques as in their complete functional subordination to a singular political objective: the systematic construction of a utopian myth and an ideological “meta-reality”. Cinematic language elements, such as plastic means (lighting, angle and composition), sound, and narrative structures, were meticulously controlled and calibrated for this purpose. The article analyzes the use of techniques like pseudo-realism, which presented ideologically distorted content under a veil of visual authenticity, and gigantomania, which symbolized state invincibility. Additionally, manipulative montage was employed to evoke specific, non-critical emotional responses from the masses. Ultimately, totalitarian cinema and television are defined not as mediums for reflecting reality, but as a specialized technology of power. Their function was to grant the constructed ideology the appearance of a natural truth and to actively create “ideological scenery of reality” on screen, forging a compliant, optimistic, and ideologically unified societal element. The article underscores the contemporary relevance of studying these mechanisms for countering modern forms of media manipulation and hybrid warfare.en
