Анотація
Статтю присвячено дослідженню феномену фактичності у сучасній фікційній літературі. Репрезентативним у цьому плані є історичний детектив «Смерть у Берестові» Петра Кралюка й Олександра Красовицького. Методологічною базою слугував аналіз художньо-публіцистичного складника, а саме: функцій історичних, портретних і подорожніх нарисів книжника Симеона. З’ясовано, що введення цих нарисів до тексту детективу спонукає читача взяти участь у пошуку історичної правди, розглянути героїчну українську історію та встановити завдяки цьому актуальні для сьогодення закономірності.
Реципієнт у романі спостерігає за початком XI ст. періоду Київської Русі завдяки зауваженням книжника‑чужинця Симеона. Саме він стає автором історичних, портретних і подорожніх нарисів, які спрямовані на осмислення тогочасного життя українців. В історичних нарисах указаний головний герой роздумує над пройденим шляхом жителів Київської Русі, фактами, подіями, постатями з їхнього життя. Портретні нариси Симеон присвячує тому, щоб закріпити характерні зовнішні та внутрішні риси своїх співрозмовників. Натомість подорожні нариси — насамперед фіксація того, що відбувалося з книжником під час його численних мандрів.
The article is devoted to the study of the phenomenon of factuality in modern fictional literature. The historical detective story “Death in Berestov” by Petro Kraliuk and Oleksandr Krasovytskyi is representative in this regard. The methodological basis was the analysis of the artistic and journalistic component, namely: the functions of historical, portrait and travel essays by the scribe Simeon. It was found that the introduction of these essays into the text of the detective story encourages the reader to take part in the search for historical truth, to consider heroic Ukrainian history and, thanks to this, to establish patterns relevant to the present day. The recipient in the novel observes the beginning of the 11th century period of Kyivan Rus thanks to the observations of the scribe foreigner Simeon. It is he who becomes the author of historical, portrait and travel essays, which are aimed at understanding the life of Ukrainians at that time. In the historical essays, the indicated main character reflects on the path taken by the inhabitants of Kyivan Rus, facts, events, and figures from their lives. Simeon devotes portrait essays to fixing the characteristic external and internal features of his interlocutors. In contrast, travel essays are primarily a recording of what happened to the scribe during his numerous travels. The proposed study is the first investigation devoted to understanding the phenomenon of the transition of modern fictional literature to a greater degree of fact on the example of the historical detective story “Death in Berestov” by Petro Kraliuk and Oleksandr Krasovytskyi. The writers strive, referring to the genre nature of the essay, to recreate not only the background of the ancient era, but also to convey its specifics through factuality. The modern reader needs careful adherence to historical truth, since he feels lost among the multitude of assumptions, probabilities and hypotheses. And hence the intention of the authors of the novel “Death in Berestov” — to bring the recipient closer to the past, to show its proximity and, as a result, the continuity of times. This is the relevance of the article, because much of today’s historical prose, on the contrary, tends towards fiction. Historical, portrait and travel sketches of the main character of the detective — Simeon — make up a megatext that reveals the specifics of life, lifestyle, beliefs, traditions, customs of the peoples of Kievan Rus at the beginning of the 11th century. This young scribe investigates the circumstances of the death of the baptizer of the medieval Ukrainian state — Volodymyr the Great. The traveler finds himself at the epicenter of the turbulent events of the struggle for power, covering them, like a journalist of that time. As a result, Simeon becomes a kind of representative of Kievan Rus on the international arena of the 11th century.
