Анотація
У статті здійснено суспільно-географічне обґрунтування культурного простору Одеського регіону як складної просторово організованої системи, що поєднує матеріальні, соціально-демографічні, інституційні, комунікаційні, символічні та економічні компоненти. Розкрито теоретико-методологічні засади дослідження культури як просторового явища, визначено структуру та внутрішні зв’язки між складовими культурного простору. На основі статистичних матеріалів та регіональних програм розвитку виявлено просторові закономірності організації культурної інфраструктури Одещини, встановлено відмінності між центральною, субрегіональною та периферійною зонами. Показано, що місто Одеса виконує роль головного центру культурного розвитку, тоді як громади південного і центральної частини області відзначаються етнокультурною своєрідністю та високим рівнем громадської активності. Обґрунтовано напрями удосконалення регіональної культурної політики, спрямованої на забезпечення територіальної збалансованості, розвиток людського потенціалу, охорону культурної спадщини та розбудову культурно-креативного потенціалу регіону.
Problem Statement and Purpose. The relevance of the topic is due to the need to deepen the theoretical and methodological foundations of socio-geographical analysis of culture as a spatial phenomenon, covering material, symbolic and communication dimensions. The cultural space of the region is a complex system of interaction of cultural landscapes, socio-cultural institutions, networks of cultural infrastructure and mental and value characteristics of the population. The purpose of the study is to provide a socio-geographical justification of the cultural space of the Odesa region as a complex territorial formation, to identify its structural components, spatial patterns, and methods of analysis for further use in regional policy and cultural planning. Data and Methods. The main source of information was the statistical materials of the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, the Main Department of Statistics in the Odesa region, reports of the departments of culture, education and tourism of the Odesa Regional State Administration, analytical materials of regional programs for the development of culture and protection of cultural heritage. The study used methods of analysis and synthesis to generalize scientific approaches to determining the essence of cultural space, the comparative-geographical method was used to analyze spatial differences in the level of development of cultural infrastructure, the intensity of cultural processes and the availability of cultural services, as well as the statistical method to analyze quantitative indicators of the functioning of cultural institutions, the dynamics of cultural activity of the population and the structure of financing of the industry. The method of structural-functional analysis allowed us to determine the internal connections between the components of the cultural space of the region and assess their role in ensuring sustainable development. Results. In the structure of the cultural space of the region, five interrelated components have been identified, which together form its functional model. The material and institutional component reflects the material basis of cultural life and the institutional mechanisms of its organization. The socio-demographic component characterizes the personal and social aspect of culture, reflecting the activity, level of education, ethnic structure of the population, and the degree of its involvement in cultural life. The communication component forms a system of relationships within the cultural space of the region. The symbolic component expresses the spiritually valuable dimension of culture, which determines the uniqueness and identity of the territory. The economic component represents the financial and resource basis of the cultural development of the region. The Odesa region is characterized by a pronounced uneven development of the cultural space, which is manifested in the concentration of cultural resources, institutions and forms of cultural activity in the central part of the region and a gradual decrease in their level towards the periphery. Such a structure was formed under the influence of historical conditions, demographic situation, level of urbanization, financial capacity of communities and transport accessibility. The central zone of cultural concentration, represented by the city of Odesa, is the main center for organizing the cultural life of the region. More than 60% of all cultural institutions in the region are concentrated here. Intermediate centers of cultural development have been formed in Izmail, Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi, Podilsk, Berezivka, and Rozdilna. These cities combine the functions of organizational, educational, and cultural and communication hubs, ensuring the spread of cultural processes to neighboring communities. The level of cultural richness decreases with distance from the regional center. If the cultural potential of Odesa is taken as 100%, then Izmail has about 60%, Podilsk – 45%, Berezivka and Rozdilna – 35%, and the communities of the southwestern part – less than 30%. Such differences reflect a clearly formed spatial structure that determines the features of the territorial organization of the cultural space of the region. Further development of the cultural space of the Odesa region should be focused on ensuring territorial balance, equal access of the population to cultural goods and expanding opportunities for community participation in cultural life. It is necessary to form an integrated regional cultural policy that combines support for material infrastructure, development of human potential, and protection of cultural heritage.
