Анотація
Мета статті — проаналізувати інформаційний потенціал Державного архіву Одеської області у річищі вивчення політики країн Четверного союзу в Україні.
Наукова новизна дослідження полягає у першій спробі систематизувати евристичний потенціал одного з архівосховищ України у контексті дослідження проблематики Першої світової війни та Української революції у 1918 р.
Висновки. У ході евристичної роботи автори статті опрацювали описи півтора десятка справ п’яти фондів сховища, з-поміж яких слід передусім виділити фонди 4 («Одеська міська дума») та 16 («Одеська міська управа»). Значно менша частина джерельного масиву відклалася у фондах 42, Р-4529 та Р-4891. За походженням виявлені документи можна розділити на матеріали вищих органів влади УНР та Української Держави, місцевих органів влади, громадських організацій, закладів культури, особового походження та вищого військового командування Центральних держав. За службовим призначенням актуалізовану джерельну базу складають нормативні та виконавчі документи. За змістом їх можна згрупувати у чотири тематичні блоки, які відбивають діяльність регіональних та місцевих органів влади в умовах окупації, проблеми соціально-економічного розвитку, функціонування закладів культури та різноманітні аспекти суспільно-політичного життя. Сукупність інформації, носіями якої є документи фондів ДАОО, свідчить, що вона може слугувати основою для досліджень з історії Першої світової війни у Центрально-Східній Європі на її завершальному етапі, здебільшого висвітлення регіонального аспекту окупаційної політики країн Четверного союзу. Адже однією з головних особливостей віднайдених архівних матеріалів є фокусування уваги на питаннях, пов’язаних з Одесою та навколишніх теренів, насамперед у межах розташування військ Австро-Угорської імперії.
Достатньо високим є рівень репрезентативності інших сюжетних ліній, відбитих в архівних джерелах. Вони стосуються вивчення подій Української революції у 1918 р., зокрема, діяльності управлінського апарату, взаємодії представників українських урядів як з органами місцевого самоврядування, так і союзницьким командуванням, реакції на виклики економічного характеру, пов’язані з функціонуванням фінансової сфери, реалізації цінової політики, забезпечення паливом тощо. У переважній більшості випадків виявлені матеріали зберігаються у друкованому варіанті, є оригіналами або копіями, зокрема, перекладами наказів та розпоряджень вищого австрійського командування російською мовою.

Дослідження проведено в рамках реалізації проєкту «Україна і Центральні держави у 1918 р: конфронтація та співпраця в Причорноморському регіоні» за грантом EURIZONE для українських дослідників (фінансування від програми Європейського Союзу з досліджень та інновацій «Горизонт 2020» в рамках грантової угоди № 871072).
The purpose of the article is to analyse the information potential of the State Archives of the Odesa Region in the context of studying the politics of the countries of the Quadruple Alliance in Ukraine. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the first attempt to systematise the heuristic potential of one of the archival repositories of Ukraine in the context of research on the issues of the First World War and the Ukrainian Revolution of 1918. Conclusions. In the course of the heuristic work, the authors of the article processed the descriptions of fifteen cases from five funds of the repository, among which we should first highlight the funds 4 (Odesa City Duma) and 16 (Odesa City Administration). A much smaller part of the source material was deposited in funds 42, R-4529 and R-4891. According to their origin, the documents can be divided into materials of the supreme authorities of the Ukrainian People’s Republic and the Ukrainian State, local authorities, public organisations, cultural institutions, personal origin and the Supreme Military Command of the Central Powers. According to their official purpose, the updated source base consists of normative and executive documents. According to their content, they can be divided into four thematic blocks reflecting the activities of regional and local authorities under occupation, problems of socioeconomic development, functioning of cultural institutions and various aspects of social and political life. The totality of the information contained in the funds of the State Archives of Odesa Region shows that it can serve as a basis for research on the history of the First World War in Central and Eastern Europe in its final stage, mainly covering the regional aspect of the occupation policy of the Quadruple Alliance. Finally, one of the main features of the recovered archival material is the focus on issues related to Odesa and its surroundings, especially within the framework of the Austro-Hungarian Empire’s troop deployment. The level of representativeness of the other stories reflected in the archival sources is quite high. They relate to the study of the events of the Ukrainian Revolution of 1918, in particular the activities of the administrative apparatus, the interaction of representatives of the Ukrainian governments with both local authorities and the Allied command, the response to economic challenges related to the functioning of the financial sector, the implementation of pricing policies, fuel supply, etc. In the vast majority of cases, the material found is in printed form, either originals or copies, including translations of orders and instructions from the Austrian Supreme Command into Russian.
