dc.description.abstractУ статті проаналізовано уявлення громадських діячів Одеси про Сполучені Штати Америки. Визначено місце та роль одеських публіцистів та громадських діячів у відображенні суспільної думки населення півдня України другої половини ХІХ ст. З’ясовані особливості загальноприйнятих стереотипів населення півдня України про Новий світ. Розглянуто механізм висвітлення американських реалій на сторінках видань одеських публіцистів, які відвідали США. Свої враження, почуття та спогади громадські діячі, журналісти передавали у власних публіцистичних творах та в статтях на сторінках місцевої преси. Показано місце та роль регіональної періодики у відображенні уявлень видатних діячів Одеси щодо різних сторін життя заокеанської країни.uk
