Problem Statement and Purpose. The article is devoted to developing recreational-tourism zoning for the Vinnytsia region with the aim of optimizing the use of its tourism-recreational potential and fostering the region’s sustainable development. It examines the natural, cultural, and socio-economic factors that shape the potential for tourism development in each of the region’s districts. Data and Methods. The study employs a systems approach to analyzing the region’s recreational and tourism potential, which involves a comprehensive examination of the territory’s natural, historical-cultural, and socio-economic components based on scholarly research and statistical data. A range of scientific methods was applied. The method of analysis was used for the literature review and for the detailed examination of each component of the region’s recreational-tourism potential separately. To integrate data obtained from different sources and to draw conclusions regarding the current state and prospects for tourism development in the region, the method of synthesis was employed. The systematic method was used to structure the research. The cartographic method, as described in the works of T. Dudun and S. Titov, was applied in delineating the new districts. For the development of geo-informational map schemes, QGIS software version 3.40.11 was used. Results. Vinnytsia oblast is located in the forest-steppe zone of central Ukraine and is characterized by a temperate continental climate, which provides favorable conditions for the development of rural tourism and ecotourism. The absence of extreme weather and climatic conditions enables year-round development of various types of tourism. The region’s extensive and diverse hydrographic network – including more than 200 rivers and tributaries, with the Southern Bug and the Dniester as the main water arteries – not only shapes its landscape, but also forms a key basis for multiple types of recreational activities. The relief is part of the Podolian and Dnieper Uplands, formed by erosional processes and characterized by an undulating plain with ravines, gullies, and notable weathering forms. All this underpins winter recreation as well as educational and interpretive excursions. Vinnytsia oblast is actively developing its tourism infrastructure to ensure a comfortable stay for residents and visitors and to meet their needs. Based on selected criteria, a decision was made to segment existing recreational resources according to the systematics of recreational and tourism activities by activity types. As a result of evaluating the region’s recreational resources using the above criteria, six developed and two underdeveloped districts were identified. The proposed recreational and tourist zoning can be used in the formation of a tourism development strategy in Vinnytsia region as a spatial tool for distributing investments.
