dc.description.abstractУ статті розглядаються основні підходи до визначення зв’язку археологічних культур первісної доби з певним типом ландшафту. На підставі короткого аналізу історіографії даної проблеми пропонується механізм інтерпретації археологічних культур мезолітичної доби як матеріальних проявів життєдіяльності окремих етносів та обґрунтовується теза про те, що культура етносу у даному контексті може розглядатися як специфічна форма освоєння конкретного ландшафту, у якому відбувається життєдіяльність її носіїв.uk
dc.description.abstractMain approaches to the detection of connections between archaeological cultures of prehistoric times with certain type of natural landscape are considered in the current article. The author provides brief analysis of history of the discussion of this issue in Soviet archaeology and ethnology. It provides a background for conceptualization of a mechanism of interpretation of Mesolithic archaeological cultures as materialized displays of livelihood activities of certain ethnoses. In particular, subsistence strategy and mode of life of all inhabitants of Steppe Ukraine on the Pleistocene-Holocene boundary displays certain common traits (general decrease of population density, disintegration of huge communities and domination of short-term sites with no clear cultural layer etc.). However, detailed analysis of livelihood strategies of representatives of certain flintknapping traditions opens possibility to reveal clear peculiarities of their adaptation to certain natural landscape which they traditionally explore. As the result, it became possible to conclude, that culture of an ethnos in this context could be interpreted as specific form of exploitation of certain landscape, which is used to be explored as their traditional living space.
