Анотація
Статья освещает формальные и семантические характеристики вербального поля концепта SECURITY/БЕЗОПАСНОСТЬ, в частности той его части, которая реализована идиоматическими единицами с общей семантикой человеческая деятельность.
Стаття висвітлює формальні та семантичні характеристики вербального поля концепту SECURITY/ БЕЗПЕКА, зокрема тієї його частини, яка реалізована ідіоматичними одиницями зі спільною семантикою людська діяльність.
The article deals with formal and semantic peculiarities of the verbal field of the concept SECURITY, namely its part which is realized via idiomatic units with the common semantics of human activity. The content of the concept under analysis can be modeled into the following formula: SECURITY is the result of a subject’s activity (to secure) which aims at transforming the situation of danger into the situation of safety. Idioms are lexical units widely used for verbalizing the concept SECURITY, focusing mainly upon the situation danger. Various kinds of human activity and artefacts serve as source domain in idiomatic metaphoric nominations which comprise the verbal field of the concept SECURITY. Hunting, fishing and gambling are reflected in different images, embodied in the analyzed idioms. Such artefacts as boat, bridge, powder keg, armament, and millstones perform the same function.
