Анотація
The institution of intellectual property protection is currently developing rapidly, and countries around the world are encouraging more and more mechanisms to improve it. Thus, the EU has established unique institutions to protect the rights of inventors – the Unitary Patent system and the Unified Patent Court.
The Unitary Patent system is a new unified system for patents of the European Patent Office, which became fully operational relatively recently, on June 1, 2023. The Unitary Patent system is an extremely convenient tool, because by filing a single application with the European Patent Office, an applicant can claim patent protection in all 27 EU member states and 12 other countries that are members of the European Patent Organization (Albania, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Norway, San Marino, Serbia, Switzerland, Turkey and the United Kingdom).
In our research, we would like to focus on the Unified Patent Court and consider issues related to the prospects for the development of this institution.
