dc.description.abstractУ статті проаналізовано численні проекти з розвитку наукової етики та академічної доброчесності, окреслено актуальність і сучасність постановки проблеми щодо академічної доброчесності, обґрунтовано сутність поняття «академічна доброчесність», визначено зарубіжні та українські підходи щодо визначення академічної чесності, виокремлено основні принципи академічної доброчесності та види академічної нечесності. Доведено, що доброчесність – це процес самопізнання, який підпорядковано самоконтролю під час науково-педагогічної творчості та який є необхідним для створення єдиного академічного середовища, яке б дотримувалося стандартів академічної доброчесності та було б відкритим для кожної людини.uk_UA
dc.description.abstractThe given paper draws attention to the concept of academic integrity, its actuality and significance. Thus, the paper begins by introduction and defining the term “academic integrity”, based on comparative research not only of Ukrainian and foreign approaches, but also on the results of numerous projects developing academic integrity skills. Moreover main principles of academic integrity and types of academic misconduct are emphasized. It is hypothesized, that basic human values are claimed to be the key to impossibility of academic misconduct. Special references are made to the new editions of the Education Act, the Higher Education Act, the Copyright Act, the Recommendations “On Avoiding and Revealing Plagiarism in Scientific Works (Synopses, Theses, Monographs, Scientific Reports, Papers ect.)” of Ukraine, which determine “academic integrity”, “academic misconduct”, “types of academic misconduct”. Therefore this removes prevention of academic related crimes to the state level. As the results indicate, the given approach is unique, when norms of academic values are taken into laws, statutes, codes, rules, regulations and requirements. This paper proves the importance of transparency and autonomy of academic environment. The reference should be made to those scientists, who consider academic integrity as a prime mover in clash with bureaucratization and commercialization at higher educational establishments. The paper illustrates academic integrity as a complex concept describing specific agreement between academic communities and its members. The discussion provides key insights into that academic integrity has urgent principles of integrity, transparency, responsibility, cooperating and following ethic values. Furthermore it was proven, that “integrity” means not to accept, to prevent and to reveal falsification of results, plagiarism, immoral attitude towards colleagues and researched objects. Consequently scientific work is meaningless without credibility of its results. Dishonesty and tolerance to plagiarism and falsification in academic community provokes mistrust not only to scientific results, but to the whole community. Finally, the paper proves that academic integrity is a process of self-cognition obeying self-control during educational research activity and is demandable for creating an academic environment, which would follow standards of academic integrity.
