A comparative microbiological study was conducted at the multidisciplinary medical laboratory “SCIENCELAB” (Ukraine) during the years 2023–2024 and at the Central Laboratory “Regina Maria” (Romania). The objective of this study was to determine the etiological composition of bacterial and fungal pathogens responsible for infections of the upper respiratory tract, as well as ear and ocular infections, accompanied by a comparative analysis of the antimicrobial susceptibility profiles of the isolated strains to antibacterial and antifungal agents. The results demonstrated the dominance of bacteria of the genera Streptococcus and Staphylococcus in both Ukraine and Romania. In Ukraine, isolates obtained from the throat and nasal cavity were characterized by the greatest species diversity. Among all anatomical sites, the widest spectrum of pathogens was identified in ear secretions. Haemophilus influenzae was found to play a leading role in the development of ocular infections. Cephalosporins and fluoroquinolones showed the highest activity against the isolated bacteria. Thesis «Species Composition and Antibiotic Susceptibility of Pathogens Causing Upper Respiratory Tract Infections» comprises 72 pages of printed text, including 2 tables and 14 figures. The work references 7 publications in Cyrillic script and 98 in Latin script.
