dc.description.abstractTeaching a foreign language for the specific purposes is efficient due to the usage of some contact and distant forms and techniques which take into consideration the level of students’ skills development, the peculiarities of their future specialization in the field of knowledge, the necessity to communicate in a polycultured environment and their desire to use modern IT technologies and gadgets. Several contact and distant forms of teaching English to the university students were devised and implemented at the faculties of International Economic Relations, Philological, Mathematics and Law, the results being positive (as the 5-year teaching experience proves) both from the point of view of the learners’ eagerness to study and their academic achievements.
