| dc.description.abstract | Modern Bulgaria’s region - Balkan Peninsula - occupies a definite geostrategic place at the border of Europe and Asia. Historically important and active foreign policy events that took place on the territory of the Balkans have always played an important role in the development of European civilization, from the reign of the Ottoman Empire to the murder of Archduke Franz Ferdinand. Despite the fact that the aforementioned peninsula has been one of the most dangerous geopolitical zones, Bulgaria continues to play a worthy role in European policy, which was one of the reasons for its integration into the European Union and NATO – its main foreign policy goals at the beginning of the 21st century, contrary to being in the Warwash Treaty and The Council for Mutual Economic Assistance, no to mention Bulgaria's close relations and attempts to enter the Soviet Union in the distant past. | uk_UA |
