dc.description.abstractVsevolod Denisovich Sevastianov, a talented scientist and a wonderful person, passed away on March 27, 2013. Vsevolod D. Sevastianov was a zoologist, an acarologist, Dr. hab. and Professor, laureate of the State Prize of the USSR, author of more than 160 scientific articles and monographs and a devoted teacher awarded the Label Pin of the USSR Higher Education System. Vsevolod D. Sevastianov was born on June 6, 1929, in the village of Chemerivtsy (Khmelnitsky Region, the Ukraine). In 1953 he graduated from the Odessa State University. It was there that his further career unfolded. He became lecturing assistant at the Department of Invertebrate Zoology, defended his PhD thesis when he was 27 and became senior teacher. Five years later he became docent and then, at 47, the Head of the Department. In 1980 he defended his doctoral thesis (Dr. hab.), becoming Professor in 1982.uk_UA
