dc.description.abstractThis article contains a complex research of pre-monotheistic beliefs in the wedding ceremony of Crimean Tatars. The centuries-old domination of Islam on the Crimean peninsula was largely reflected in the marriages of the Crimean Tatars in the ceremonies. Islamic traditions, although they occupy the main place in the entire complex of wedding ceremonies, yet non-Muslim beliefs and practices still, despite the simplification of the wedding ceremony, are reflected in ceremonial acts and wedding attributes of this family celebration. First of all, among the non-Muslim rites of the wedding ceremony of Crimean Tatars, one should highlight the customs of strict and consistent pronounced exogamy, territorial restrictions, the existence of a permission to have free relationships in the days of folk holidays and festivities between Crimean Tatar girls and boys. There were various forms of marriage: the withdrawal (departure) – with the mutual consent of the young. Domontotheistic ideas explain the custom of marrying on Thursday or Friday, tradition is to hold the sacrificial rite and the collective prayer (dua) for the deceased relatives shortly before the wedding in the houses of the bride and groom.
