Abstract
This report is devoted to the role of optimal values of the blood transport function in the delivery of drugs to target tissues. It is argued that the transport of any substance (including drugs) is a collective process involving both the blood cells and its liquid part, plasma. The efficiency of drug metabolism is highly dependent on the energy supply of cells in any target tissue. The energy state of cells is determined by their oxygenation level. The ratio of haemoglobin oxygen saturation to plasma viscosity is taken as an indicator of the efficiency of energy supply to the cells of the target tissue. The role of temperature in the process of intensifying the energy supply of target tissue cells is pointed out. It is shown that the temperature at which the oxygen flow through the vessels reaches its maximum value is 36.6 0C.
