Анотація
The topic of this thesis is "Serbian Path to the EU and NATO." The relevance of the topic is determined by the fact that Serbia, located at the crossroads of Central and South-Eastern Europe, is an important player in regional and international relations. After the break-up of Yugoslavia, which led to serious political, economic and social transformations, the country found itself at the epicentre of changes that determine its current path. In the context of globalisation and integration processes, Serbia seeks to become part of the European Union and NATO, which is strategically important for ensuring stability, security and economic development. The relevance of this topic is due to the need for a deeper understanding of the complex processes that determine Serbia's path to European and Euro-Atlantic integration, as well as the impact of these processes on domestic politics and society. The scientific significance of the master's thesis lies in the creation of new knowledge about the complex interrelationships between Serbia's national identity and its aspirations for integration into NATO and the EU, as well as in the study of the influence of historical, social and political contexts on these processes. The research will reveal how historical traumas, such as the wars in Yugoslavia, influence contemporary narratives about Euro-Atlantic integration, as well as how different social groups in Serbia perceive these institutions. The practical relevance of the chosen topic lies in the fact that the study of Serbia's path to NATO and the EU can serve as an important example for Ukraine in the context of its own Euro-Atlantic integration. An analysis of Serbia's foreign policy mistakes, such as insufficient adaptation to European standards, vacillation between different geopolitical orientations, and ineffective management of internal conflicts, allows Ukraine to avoid similar pitfalls. Studying Serbia's experience can help Ukraine better understand the importance of consistency in foreign policy, as well as the need to develop a clear integration strategy that takes into account both internal and external challenges. This also includes analysing the role of public opinion and the media in shaping political narratives, which is critical for supporting European integration aspirations.
