dc.description.abstractOn July 21, 2020 the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the new edition of the Law of Ukraine “On Agricultural Cooperation”. This legal act is intended to be a significant strategic step on the way to development and modernization of agricultural cooperation in Ukraine. In accordance with part 4 of Chapter X “Final and Transitional Provisions” of the Law of Ukraine “On Agricultural Cooperation”, agricultural production cooperatives, agricultural service cooperatives and associations of agricultural service cooperatives, that were created in accordance with the Law of Ukraine “On Agricultural Cooperation” dated July 17, 1997 No. 469/97-ВР, registered on the date of entry into force of this Law, are subject to re-registration into agricultural cooperatives, agricultural cooperative associations within three years from the date of entry into force of the Law in the new edition, that is from 15.08.2020. However, it should be pointed out that the Law of Ukraine “On Agricultural Cooperation” does not contain the provisions that regulate the mechanism of re-registration of agricultural cooperatives, provisions that authorize a specific body to monitor the re-registration procedure, the Classification of Organizational and Legal Forms of Management does not include such an organizational and legal form as “agricultural cooperative”, also there is the uncertainty of responsibility for non-implementation of the re-registration of the cooperatives within the time prescribed by the Law, which determines the relevance of the chosen research topic.en
