dc.description.abstractDue to globalization the issue of emigration is an integral component of modem life. Emigration is the main reason for the loss of homogeneity of the modem national state.. On one hand, a multicultural population has positive aspects, because it enriches the society, but on the other hand, emigration is frequently associated with the lack of order, poverty and criminality. As a result of cultural integration, the problems of cultural tolerance, inter-ethnic conflicts, and complex collective identities arise. Emigration has created the need for the peaceful coexistence of different cultures in one country and support for the equality of cultural values. Psychological factors also play an active part in the specific features of migration processes. Today in Ukraine different social strata and groups are involved in emigration. The demands of emigration are extreme for every participant, because it requires psychological readiness for a life under absolutely new conditions. This paper presents the results of an investigation into the motivational readiness to emigrate by Ukrainian youth, in particular high schools students. What are the main motives, which cause the youth to want to immigrate to another county, are presented. Age and gender difference in motivation are discussed.en
