    The Candida albicans and Pseudomonas aeruginosa interaction characteristics during the multispecies biofilm formation were studied. At all formation stages the cultures of a microbial multispecies association influenced each other, manifesting an antagonistic form of interactions. The antagonism degree of the cultured microorganisms was not the same in different media.

    The characteristics of Candida albicans biofilm formation in vitro

    Candida albicans is a dimorphic fungus that exhibits a number of different morphological forms under different environmental conditions. During human candidiasis development this microorganism forms biofilms. C. albicans biofilms usually consist both yeast cells and hyphae covered with a thick exopolysaccharide layer. The C. albicans biofilm structure, in particular the component ratio, can be different depending on the substrate type: artificial medical devices, skin or mucous membranes. The aim of this work was to characterize the Candida albicans biofilm formation process under different conditions in vitro.

    Candida albicans is a polymorphic microorganism existed as either true yeast fungi or as the hyphae and pseudohyphae forms. This microorganism is a part of the normal microbiota. But during human violations candidiasis arise and the biofilm development begins. The C. albicans biofilm structure can be different, depending on their formation surfaces (Zhu W., 2010).

    C. albicans є поліморфним мікроорганізмом, що може існувати або як справжній дріжджоподібний гриб або у вигляді гіфів та псевдогіфів. Співвідношення структурних компонентів біоплівки C. albicans (дріжджових клітин, гіфів, екзополісахаридів) залежить від виду поверхні, на якій відбувається її формування: медичні прилади, шкірні покриви або слизові оболонки.
