Анотація
The problem of the public debt rising is becoming increasingly urgent, especially for the Eurozone countries. This growing concern requires a comprehensive analysis of the relationships between key macroeconomic variables: the level of public debt, inflation dynamics and fiscal balance. These relationships are of interest not only from a scientific point of view, but also have significant practical significance, especially in the context of post-crisis recovery, ensuring fiscal sustainability and the changing role of monetary policy.
The aim of this study is to assess and compare the dynamics of the above macroeconomic variables in France, Greece and Italy using modern econometric methods. In particular, the analysis is based on the use of vector autoregression (VAR) models and Granger causality tests in order to identify the strength and direction of the causal relationships between these indicators. By identifying the leading and dependent variables in each of the three economies, the study allows for a better understanding of how fiscal and monetary conditions interact over time.
