The study of the activity of the pyruvate dehydrogenase complex in the organs of rats in gerontogenesis and the influence of riboflavin, FAD, FMN and Vitabolon on the activity of the enzyme complex in the brain, liver, kidneys, heart of rats of different ages. In intact rats of all age groups, the highest activity of the PDC in the liver homogenate was observed, but the biggest one is in the old rats. It has been determined that the activity of the pyruvate dehydrogenase complex in the investigated organs of all age groups, but more significantly, in the sexually mature rats, was altered by the addition of riboflavin, FAD, FMN and Vitabolone separately to the homogenates of the organs in comparison with the control, in vitro. In older rats, the activity of PDC in vitro decreased only in the liver after the addition of riboflavin separately and FMN. The results of the studies reflect different mechanisms of regulation of the pyruvate dehydrogenase complex in gerontogenesis.
