Taking its stand on the situation of the town of Ismail, the author analyses the origins of the inhabitants settled on the northern part of Chilia branch, the social and familial structure, their ethnicity, according to the names recorded in the documents.Autoarea analizează pe baza informaţiilor de arhivă schimbările demografice complexe care au loc la Dunărea de Jos (Bugeac) în contextul schimbării stăpânirii otomane cu cea rusă.
