The researchers note that “281 million people, or 3.6% of the world's population, are currently migrants, of whom 169 million are labor migrants. Their number has increased by 84% over the past 30 years, with forced migration increasing by 400%”. The migration policy of the European Union is a unique example of interaction among nation-states, human rights, and international partnerships. The EU and national governments are forced to strike a balance between domestic interests and international obligations as migration flows increase in 2020-2024, driven by both humanitarian and economic factors.enmigrationmigrantEU's migration policyUkrainian forced migrationimmigrationlabor forceEuropean labor marketUkrainian migration in the context of EU policy: economic and social aspectsArticle
