A number of defense mechanisms against xenobiotics were discovered in the foraminifera studied. Presence of UNOC in seawater decreased acute toxicity of heavy metal ions for foraminifera. -from Authorsenchemical ecologyForaminiferaChemical ecology; a new approach to the study of living benthic epiphytic ForaminiferaArticle
