Методологічним бар’єром для такого об’єднання нині є традиційне для вітчизняної науки розмежування предметних областей фізичної та суспільної (соціально-економічної) географії. Пропонується предметна трансформація географії, за якої і фізична, і суспільна географія мають один і той самий об’єкт дослідження – ландшафтну оболонку Землі. Новизна дослідження - розглянуто методологічні засади концепції довкілля як сучасного напрямку інтеграції географічних досліджень.The purpose of the publication is to consider the directions of further integration of natural and socio-geographical research. The methodological barrier for such an association is now the traditional demarcation of the subject areas of physical and social (socio-economic) geography for the national science. The objective transformation of geography, in which both physical and social geography have one and the same object of research - Landscape shell of the Earth, is proposed.
