The aim of the paper is to substantiate potential of research of the boundaries of the text as one of the ways to study the author's world. This article examines the levels of researching of text boundaries. Such as: the formal boundaries – the beginning and the end of the text - as well as content borders, connected with the openness of the text to dialogue with other works of the same author. The connection between the texts is most obvious inside the collections, cycles, books, when their community gets a new, additional meaning, and the sum of two (three or more) works is more than two (three or more). Common motifs and images in different literary works of the same author allow to identify the most important for the artist sides of reality, creative principles of this writer, peculiarities of his artistic consciousness – so, to form judgments about its author's world. The article gives a detailed analysis of prose by A. S. Grin.У статті представлені роздуми про сутність такої категорії, як «авторський світ», пропонується робоча дефініція цієї категорії. Як один з напрямів вивчення авторського світу пропонується аналіз меж тексту. Виділено формальні межі (початок і кінець тексту), а також змістовні межі, точніше відкритість тексту до діалогу з іншими творами того ж автора. Зв'язки між текстами найбільш очевидні всередині збірників, циклів, книг автора, коли з їхньої спільності народжується новий, додатковий сенс і сума двох (трьох і більше) творів виявляється більше, ніж два (три і більше). Вивчення міжтекстовых зв'язків дає можливість виявити найбільш актуальні для митця явища і особливості їх художнього відтворення, найбільш показові для нього творчі принципи, які обумовлені його художньою свідомістю – все те, що відноситься до категорії «авторський світ».
