В роботі наведено основні аспекти дослідження феномену геніальності у філософії та психології; проаналізовано дефініції лексичної одиниці genius в англомовних словниках різного функціонального спрямування; виокремлено концептуальні ознаки досліджуваного концепту в англомовному мовленні.Статья посвящена исследованию особенностей вербализации концепта GENIUS в англоязычных биографиях Альберта Эйнштейна. В работе указаны основные аспекты исследования феномена гениальности в философии и психологии; проанализированы дефиниции лексической единицы genius в англоязычных словарях разной функциональной направленности; выделены концептуальные признаки исследуемого концепта в английской речи.The article is dedicated to the investigation of the peculiarities of verbalization of the concept GENIUS in the English biographies of Albert Einstein. The research presents main aspects of the study of the phenomenon of genius in philosophy and psychology; analyzes definitions of the lexical unit “genius” in the English dictionaries of different functional orientation; singles out conceptual features of the analyzed concept in the English speech The etymology of the word “genius” is being studied. The structure of the semantic meaning of the analyzed lexical unit consists of four sememes, two of which verbalize the given concept as “extraordinary intellectual and creative power; a person of extraordinary intellect and talent”.
