In recent decades, humanity has come to understand that the resources of the world’s oceans are not unlimited and that they are suffering from excessive pressure from human activity. The Black Sea is a semi-enclosed sea that is very sensitive to anthropogenic and climatic influences. Intensive economic activity in the countries of Black Sea region by the end of the 20th century led to the loss of biodiversity and habitat degradation in the Black Sea, and marine and coastal ecosystems were on the brink of collapse. In the current situation, the transition to blue economy principles in marine resource management is the only way to stop destructive processes and preserve the Black Sea’s natural potential. The monograph is devoted to solving the important scientific problem of sustainable use of marine resources in conditions of increasing human pressure and climate change. The monograph is designed for a wide range of scientists in the field of oceanography, marine management and the blue economy, as well as students of higher education.Океани є важливим джерелом їжі, енергії та інших екосистемних послуг для людини. В останні десятиліття людство дійшло розуміння того, що ресурси світового океану не безмежні та що вони зазнають надмірного тиску з боку людини. Чорне море – це напівзамкнуте море, яке дуже чутливе до антропогенних та кліматичних впливів. Інтенсивна економічна діяльність у країнах Чорноморського регіону наприкінці ХХ століття призвела до втрати біорізноманіття та деградації середовища існування в Чорному морі, а морські та прибережні екосистеми опинилися на межі колапсу. У сучасній ситуації перехід до принципів блакитної економіки в управлінні морськими ресурсами є єдиним способом зупинити руйнівні процеси та зберегти природний потенціал Чорного моря.
