The content of the concept under analysis can be modeled into the following formula: SECURITY is the result of a subject’s activity (to secure) which aims at transforming the situation of danger into the situation of safety. Idioms are lexical units widely used for verbalizing the concept SECURITY, focusing mainly upon the situation danger. Various kinds of human activity and artefacts serve as source domain in idiomatic metaphoric nominations which comprise the verbal field of the concept SECURITY. Hunting, fishing and gambling are reflected in different images, embodied in the analyzed idioms.
