Досліджуються поняття «письменницька есеїстика» і «художня есеїстика». В якості основоположних позицій, що обґрунтовують художню природу есею як літературного твору, називаються такі: він наділений насамперед естетичним потенціалом; він переслідує естетичні задачі, тобто призначений, аби викликати естетичне переживання; він є втіленням естетичного досвіду митця і нашаруванням естетичних переживань різної міцності, тривалості та глибини; художній есей щільно звʼязаний з іншими родами й жанрами художньої творчості як такої, стаючи часто її продовженням, наслідком; художність – визначальна риса окреслюваного типу есею в цілому. У статті доводиться, що літературний есей, до якого найчастіше вдаються письменники, – це змістоформа, в якій естетичний досвід «стає філософією», виражаючи іманентні ознаки творчого субʼєкта, зверненого до власного внутрішнього досвіду. Вона вирізняється високим ступенем використання мовностилістичних засобів художньої виразності, покликаних створювати образи, наділені потужним струменем естетичного впливу.Автор статьи предлагает пути разделения понятий «эссе писателя» и «художественное эссе». В качестве основополагающих характеристик жанровой природы эссе как литературного произведения предлагаются следующшие: наличие в эссе эстетического потенциала, наделение его эстетическими задачами. Отсюда – способность эссе вызывать эстетические переживания у реципиента, а также выражать эстетический опыт автора. Обосновывается вывод о тесной связи эссе с другими литературными родами и жанрами, о художественности эссе.The article reflects on the phenomenon of writerʼs essay. The concepts of «writerʼs essay » and «fiction essay» are explored. As the fundamental positions that substantiate the artistic nature of the essay as a literary work, the following positions are named: it is endowed with aesthetic potential; it pursues aesthetic tasks, that is, intended to evoke aesthetic experience; it is, in the first place, an embodiment of the aesthetic experience of the artist and a layer of aesthetic experiences of varying strength, duration and depth; fiction essay is closely linked to other genres and genres of art as such, often becoming their continuation or result; art is the defining feature of the outlined type of essay as a whole. It is argued that the fiction essay, which is most often resorted to by writers, is a content form in which the aesthetic experience «becomes a philosophy », expressing the immanent features of a creative subject, which is turned to his own personal experience. It is characterized by a high degree of linguistic and stylistic means of artistic expression, designed to create images, endowed with a powerful flow of aesthetic influence. It is concluded that the artistic essay is mainly created by writers, writers, for whom self-expression by means of the artistic word is a way of establishing oneself in the world. It is endowed with such features as: the presence of a specific topic or issue, which is often addressed in a series of texts, emphasis on the personal nature of perception of the problem and its comprehension, arbitrary composition and volume, ease of narration, frequent paradox, special, rich, diverse speech, active use of artistic means, some connection with other literary creativity of the artist.
