Освещен опыт каталогизаторов НБ ОНУ имени И. И. Мечникова по редактированию библиографических записей и работе с авторитетными файлами в АБИС Абcотек Юникод.The main subject of article is the question of electronic cataloguing of documents and technological features of editing bibliographic notes entries in the catalog. The subject of research is the electronic catalog of the Scientific Library of Odesa I. I. Mechnikov National University. The purpose of work is publicizing of experiment of cataloguers of the Scientific Library on editing bibliographic records and work with authoritative files in ABIS Absotheque Unicode. In article, problems are considered and need of unification of these collective and individual authors, cities, publishing houses for electronic catalog confirmed. It is necessary to consider and approve the matters at the state level and to develop the general technique for all libraries of the country. Practical finding of work is that as a result of editing information quality of the electronic catalog, search abilities improves in virtue of the library catalogs become more well-tried remedy of service of readers. Continuous work on optimization of the electronic catalog and control of his editing is necessary. Main finding of the work is that the satisfaction of information needs of users for the electronic catalog influences increase of image not only high school library, but also educational institution.
