Анотація
This research examines the role and function of metaphors in political discourse, focusing on the analysis of English political language. The study explores how metaphors are used to understand and influence political phenomena, their impact on public perception, and their role in shaping political worldviews. By analysing various conceptual metaphor fields identified by prominent linguists, this research aims to uncover common patterns of metaphorization across different linguistic and cultural contexts. The study highlights the pragmatic potential of metaphors in political speeches and media texts, emphasising their ability to evoke emotions and influence public opinion. The findings contribute to understanding the cognitive and linguistic mechanisms underlying political communication and propaganda in different cultural settings.
