A convenient way of 3-fluoro-1,8-naphthalimide synthesis(2015) Fedko, Nadiia F.; Anikin, Valerii F.; The syntheses of 3-fluoro-1,8-naphthalimide and 3-fluoro-1,8-naphthalic anhydride from 3-nitro-1,8-naphthalimide have been described. 3-Nitro-1,8-naphthalimide can be obtained by nitration of naphthalimide with sodium nitrate in sulfuric acid. Stability of naphthalimides under acidic and alkaline conditions makes 3-substituted naphthalimides more suitable synthones for further functionalization compared to the corresponding 3-substituted naphthalic anhydrides. The best yield of 3-fluoro-1,8-naphthalimide was achieved through the following sequence: 1) nitration of naphthalic anhydride to 3-nitronaphthalic anhydride by sodium nitrate in the concentrated sulfuric acid; 2) ammonolysis of 3-nitronaphthalic anhydride to 3-nitronaphthalimide with aqueous ammonia; 3) reduction of 3-nitronaphthalimide to 3-amino-naphthalimide with sodium dithionite solution in aqueous ethanol; 4) preparation of 3-fluoronaphthalimide by diazotization of 3-aminonaphthalimide and subsequent thermal decomposition of the corresponding tetrafluoroborate. Nitration of naphthalic anhydride makes it possible to avoid the problem of poor solubility of naphthalimide in sulfuric acid. Subsequent reactions are conveniently carried out with naphthalimide derivatives, thus avoiding the difficulties encountered in isolating of 3-aminonaphthalic anhydride that can undergo a polymerization reaction. The new protocol is more efficient than the preparation route previously described leading to 3-substituted naphthalic anhydrides and naphthalimides by virtue of the substitution reaction at C-4 of acenaphthene followed by oxidation. Adsorption kinetics of anthocyanins from elderberry extracts on bentonite(2016) Soldatkina, Liudmyla M.; Novotna, Viktoriia O.; Adsorption kinetics of anthocyanins from aqueous extracts of elderberries on bentonite at various concentrations of anthocyanins, mass of bentonite, and temperature was investigated in this work. Huge amount of anionic dyes in contaminated water are generated as the result of substantially usage of dyes in various processes of such industries as dyestuff, textile, paper, printing, cosmetic, etc. The presence of toxic anionic dyes in wastewater is one of a major environmental concern nowadays. These dyes are carcinogens and toxic products and they may degrade to produce toxic compounds. Adsorption method employing activated carbon was reported to be the most widely used for anionic dyes removal in wastewater. But, activated carbon was found to be uneconomical due to its cost and regeneration difficulties. To minimize processing costs, several recent investigations have focused on the use of low-cost composites based on plant wastes, especially on agricultural plant wastes, which are not always used efficiently and often incinerated or taken on the landfilled. For high adsorption capacity these plant wastes are treated by different modifiers. Particular attention is given to modifying by polyaniline (PAN). Analysis of published articles showed a little works directed to producing composites based on agricultural plant wastes coated by polyaniline for removing anionic dyes from wastewater. Adsorption of anionic dyes on corn stalks modified by polyaniline: kinetics and thermodynamic studies(2017) Soldatkina, Liudmyla M.; Zavrychko, M. A.; А.Extensive use of synthetic dyes in different industries has created a major pollution problem. Among various treatments, adsorption has been considered as an effective method due to its simplicity, availability and effectiveness in removing o f dyes from wastewaters. In the current work, the composite “corn stalks-polyaniline” (CS-PAN) is proposed to be used as alternative adsorbent to expensive activated carbons. We have synthesized the new composite by the chemical polymerization o f aniline on the surface o f corn stalks using (NH4) 2S2O8 as an oxidation agent and H3PO4 as a dopant. The composite was characterized by using Fourier infrared spectroscopy, specific surface area analysis, pH o f point zero charge, bulk density, and total pore volume. In comparison with corn stalks, the composite CS-PAN had a high adsorption capacity and efficiency toward anionic dyes (Acid Red and Acid Orange) in the aqueous medium. The adsorption process attains equilibrium within 120-150 min. The adsorption o f the acid dyes increased on CS-PAN composite with increase in temperature. It indicates that the adsorption is an endothermic process. Kinetic studies revealed the adsorption process was best described by the reaction model ofpseudo-second order than pseudo-first order. The activation energy o f adsorption was calculated as 13.1 and 7.8 kJ/mol fo r Acid Red and Acid Orange, respectively. Equilibrium adsorption studies o f the anionic dyes on CS-PAN indicated the Langmuir equation f it better than the Freundlich equation. Maximum adsorption capacity CS-PAN was calculated at different temperatures (303, 313, and 328 K) as 7.010-5, 8.310-5, 10.7-10-5 and 9.810-5, 12.2-10-5, 16.010-5 mol/g toward Acid Red and Acid Orange, respectively. The values o f the standard free energy change have been calculated as -29.6, -30.7, -32.6 fo r Acid Red and -30.1, -31.1, -32.7 kJ/mol fo r Acid Orange at 303, 313, and 323 K, respectively, which indicating that a spontaneous process occurred. Calculations indicated that the enthalpy changes o f adsorption were 6.7 and 1.3 kJ/mol for Acid Red and Acid Orange, respectively. Besides, the calculated standard entropy changes o f adsorption were 107 and 85 J/mol K for Acid Red and Acid Orange, respectively. Consequently, the composite CS-PAN, an inexpensive, easily synthesized, and efficient adsorbent, could be an alternative fo r more costly adsorbents used fo r removal o f anionic dyes in wastewater treatment. Adsorption of anionic dyes on corn stalks modified with polyaniline: kinetics and thermodynamic studies(2016) Soldatkina, Liudmyla M.; Zavrychko, M. A.; Nowadays particular attention is given to synthesis of new adsorbents - composites, based on plant wastes which covered by polyaniline. For example, these composites can improve the adsorption capacity of raw plant wastes toward anionic dyes. Kinetic and thermodynamic studies of dye adsorption on new adsorbents - composites are needed for their broad and effective implementation in the practice of wastewater treatment. Besides, mathematical modeling of adsorption bases on experimental kinetic curves and adsorption isotherms and allows getting information about the mechanism of adsorption. Adsorption of Dyes on Magnesium Hydroxide(SAGE Publication Ltd, 2001) Soldatkina, Liudmyla M.; Purich, A. N.; Menchuk, Vasyl V.; The basic adsorption regularities of water-soluble dyes (acid, direct and basic) on magnesium hydroxide were studied. Therefore, the active search for alternative channels for the extraction of rare earth metals is one of the main tasks for all the leading .states of the world today. There are prospects in this direction in Ukraine. One of the sources of such metals is technological waste from metallurgical and other enterprises, as well as dumps of coal mines, where there are a lot of scarce elements - scandium, niobium, lanthanum, etc. Adsorption of the tributylphosphate on aluminium oxide(National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, 2016) Sazonova, Valentyna F.; Kozhemiak, Maryna A.; The aluminium oxide in apparent quantities contains in complex ores which after processing ores with sulfunc acid passes in pulps. The subsequent extraction from pulps of rare metals (zirconium. hafmum, lanthanide, gallium, molybdenum, etc. using tnbutylphosphare (TBP) is complicated the big losses of extractant. A possible reason for this phenomenon could be adsorption of TBP on various components of ore residues present as impurities, e.g. kaolin, micas, silicon dio~ide, ferric oxides, etc. Adsorption of Tributyl Phosphate on Silica Gel(ResearchGate, 2001) Sazonova, Valentyna F.; Kojemyak, Maryna A.; Perlova, Natalya O.; The adsorption behaviour of tribulyl phosphate (TBP) on silica gel was studied. It was found that the adsorption isotherm shapes were complicated, being considered as S- and L-type isotherms according to the Giles classification. Adsorption itself was polymolecular and of a physical nature, the first adsorptive layer involving hydrogen bonding between the protons of surface silanol groups and the electron-donating oxygen atom of the adsorbate molecule. Subsequent adsorption layers were formed via van der Waals interaction. The free energy of adsorption of the system lay between -22.1 kJ/mol and -23.8 kJ/mol. The enthalpy change was negative and very small, i.t.-6.3 kJ/mol, while the entropy change was positive and in the range 53.9 J/(mol K) to 55.4 J/(mol K). The increase in entropy was explained in terms of the mobility of the TBP molecules in the adsorptive layer arising from their replacement on the silica gel surface by water molecules derived from the aqueous medium. Adsorption of Tweens and Dodecylpyridinium Chloride from Mixed Solution on Paraffin(2013) Streltsova, Olena O.; Mazuryk, A. V.; Besides military industry, uranium is also applied to civilian needs. Uranium compounds are employed in geology (to determine age of rocks), as a pigment for paints, in analytical chemistry, and for other purposes [1]. However, produced uranium is mainly consumed by nuclear power plants. Therefore, mining and processing of uranium ores are important practical tasks. Efficient, accessible, and cheap methods for the removal of U(VI) compounds from liquid wastes could provide ecological hygiene in uranium extraction from mineral raw materials. Moreover, the technique has to cover uranium recuperation in order to prevent appearance of toxic ions in sources of water supply. Adsorption and ion exchange present a possibility to decrease the content of U(VI) compounds down to maximum allowable concentration [2]. The following characteristics for materials are required: significant capacity and selectivity toward uranium-containing ions, high sorption rate, and facile regeneration. Currently, attention is focused on change of chemical composition of organic (particularly biopolymers) or inorganic sorbents. Anti-inflammatory and analgesic activity of ointment based on dense ginger extract (Zingiber officinale)(2019) Kravchenko, Iryna A.; Eberle, Lidiia V.; Nesterkina, Maria V.; Kobernik, Alona O.; Introduction: Zingiber officinale (Zingiberaceae family) is traditionally used in alternative medicine to reduce pain from rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. Ginger is also often applied for stomach and chest pain, toothaches and as anti-inflammatory agent. The aim of this study is to investigate analgesic and anti-inflammatory activities of Z. officinale dense extract after its transdermal delivery using allyl isothiocyanate (AITC) induced model with further discussion of possible action mechanism of ginger phytoconstituents. Methods: Inflammation was induced by subplantar injection to the plantar fasciitis (aponeurosis) of the hind limb of rats using 30 μL AITC solution (100 μg/limb) in 1,2-propyleneglycol. The dynamics of changes of inflammatory process was evaluated before addition of the inflammation inducer and after 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 and 24 hours of its injection for measuring the volume and the thickness of affected limb. Analgesic activity of ointments with ginger extract was examined using the model of AITC-induced pain. Results: The most effective inhibition of the development of inflammation process was 0.025% ointment with ginger extract, and the highest anti-nociceptive effect was observed at the application of 0.05% ointment 10 minutes before pain inducer agent. Conclusion: Zingiber officinale dense extract was revealed to possess significant antinociceptive and anti-inflammatory actions after its transdermal delivery. Since the pharmacological effects of ginger extract have been investigated on AITC-induced model, we may suggest the vital role of phytoconstituents binding to TRPA1 and TRPV1 ion channels as possible mechanism of action.Документ Anti-Influenza Activity of Argentums Bis(citrato)Germanate(2016) Seifullina, Inna Y.; Martsynko, Olena E.; Chebanenko, Olena Anatoliivna; Grydina, Tetiana Leonidivna; Fedchuk, Alla S.; Mudryk, L.; Radkevich, K. О.О. А.The efficiency of unmodified and modified biosorbents (barley straw and Jerusalem artichoke stalks) in removing anionic (Acid Red) and cationic (Methylene Blue) dyes from their aqueous solutions has been studied. That the adsorption of dye onto unmodified and modified barley straw and Jerusalem artichoke stalks was found to be strongly affected by the pH value. The optimum pH is in the range of 6–10 for cationic dye and 2–3 for anionic one. The kinetic curves of cationic and anionic dye adsorption on barley straw and Jerusalem artichoke stalks are well described with the help of pseudo-second order kinetic equation. Studied biosorbents are natural, eco-friendly, and low-cost adsorbents and they can be an alternative to expensive activated carbonsДокумент Bentonite modified with ions of transition metals in the reaction of ozone decomposition(2016) Truba, Alla S.; Dzhyga, Ganna M.; Rakitskaya, Tatiana L.; Nahaievska, Anna V.; Volkova, V.
