Художественное наследие Б. Пикара в коллекциях научной библиотеки ОНУ имени И. И. Мечникова

Abstract

В статье представлен обзор хранящихся в фондах университетской библиотеки изданий, подготовленных при учас- тии выдающегося гравёра Нового времени Бернара Пикара (1673-1733). Книжные иллюстрации и репродукционная гравюра занимают важную часть художественного наследия мастера. Значительное внимание уделено провенансу изданий, выявленных в составе как исторических, так и «рассеянных» книжных коллекций.

A prominent engraver Bernard Picart (1673-1733) contributed greatly to the art of engraving in Europe in the late 17th century and the first third of the 18th century. Born in Paris, in 1711 he definitely moved to Amsterdam where he was active both as an artist and engraver and as a Protestant convert. Picart is famous mostly for book-illustrations as well as reproduction prints. The University Library collections hold a good deal of his woks including four volumes of Picart’s most celebrated ouvrage – Cérémonies et coutumes religieuses de tous les peuples du monde, appearing in Amsterdam from 1723 to 1743, an album Innocent counterfeits; : or, A collection of prints from the most celebrated painters, viz. Rafael, Guido, Carlo Maratti, Poussin, Rembrandt, etc. (London, 1756). The article provides an overview of books and albums with engravings of the master stored in the Library collections. Special attention is paid to the provenance of the copies which belonged mainly to well-known bibliophiles and their acquisition by the University Library.
