На прикладі декількох поколінь династії проаналізовано причини імміграції греків у Росію, законодавчі засади і умови їх інтеграції в економіку та соціальну структуру в місцях проживання (Одеса, Таганрог, Керч, Маріуполь, Ростов-на-Дону, Санкт-Петербург та ін.). Висвітлено внесок Петрококіно у міжнародну торгівлю, підприємництво, банківську і страхову справу, золотодобувну і сталеливарну промисловість, заснування торгових домів і акціонерних товариств. Показано участь окремих представників династії в органах самоврядування, наукових і благодійних товариствах, літературно-художньому і спортивному житті Російської імперії. Встановлено родинні зв’язки між понад 400 особами династії „російських” Петрококіноuk

На примере нескольких поколений династии проанализированы причины иммиграции греков в Россию, законодательные основы и условия их интеграции в экономику и социальную структуру в местах проживання (Одесса, Таганрог, Керчь, Мариуполь, Ростов- на-Дону, Санкт-Петербург и др.). Освещен вклад Петрококино в торговлю, предпринимательство, банковское и страховое дело, золотодобывающую и сталелитейную промышленность, основание торговых домов и акционерных обществ. Показано участие представителей династии в органах самоуправления, научных и благотворительных обществах, литературно-художественной и спортивной жизни страны. Установлены родственные связи между более чем 400 «российскими» Петрококиноuk
dc.description.abstractThe dissertation is the first comprehensive research of the history of the Petrokokino family who originated from the Chios Island and resettled in the Russian Empire at the beginning of XIX ct., because of political and economic reasons, mainly caused by the Ottoman oppression of their homeland. During XLX - the beginning of XX ct., several enerations of the family had been making a great contribution to the development of the economic, social and cultural life of Russia in the places of their settlement: Odessa, St. Petersburg, Taganrog, Kerch, Mariupol, Rostov-on the Don, Caucasus region, etc. The work explains on the basis of numerous archival sources in Ukraine, Russia and reece and preceding researches, the motives of Greek emigration to Russian Empire. Also, is shown how the policy of protection and privileges offered by Russian government to the Orthodox believers has created favourable conditions for them to maintain successful economics. The other subjects of the research are the position of foreigners within the frames of the Russian legislation, integration of the Petrokokinos to the Russian social stratification and their transition from status of petty bourgeois to the 1st Guild merchants and hereditary Citizens of Honor. Since the beginning of XIX ct., the Petrokokino family was involved in international navigation, coast trade, goods import and corn-trade in the Black Sea and Azov-Don regions. By tire middle of XIX ct., they extended the sphere of their business from the southern to northern frontiers of the Empire, investing capitals in establishment of trade firms, self-service stores, banks; fire insurance office, tobacco factory, and joint - stock companies. They also started development of such new branches as gold- mining, steel mill industry, and production of construction materials. The Petrokokinos in Russia gave the bright examples of public and philanthropic activity as participants of municipal self-government, members of scientific and benevolent societies, sponsors of art and sport development. The dissertation contains analysis of main directions of their activity for assistance to poor people, orphanages, various scientific, literature and art societies, also a contribution of the family to development of tennis in Russian Empire. Genealogical schemes of separate families and the complete Russian branch of the Petrokokino dynasty (over 400 individuals) are added to the text.uk
