Досліджено різновиди авторського вступу у перекладній та оригінальній
києворуській агіографії XI‒XIII ст. З-поміж інших проаналізовано структурне функціонування тематичного ключа у двох формах, традиційної для середньовічної книжності ars-poetica у двох формах, заохочувального авторського
звернення до читача. Відповідно до кожного різновиду вступу прокоментовано особливості авторської інтенції. Також в усіх випадках показане конкретне
співвідношення основних стратегій літературного агіографічного викладу –
розмірковування та оповіді.
The a rticle discusses various types of author’s introduction in the translated and original hagiography of Kyivan Rus in the 11th–13th centuries. Studying the correlation of the two main strategies of literary presentation – refl ection and narration – in the leading genres of Early Ukrainian literature seems topical and necessary. The purpose of this study is to analyze different types of the hagiographic exordium. There is аn introduction to the description of a saint’s life, in which the author declares his intentions, expresses an aesthetic and moral vision of his own work and thus builds the appropriate reader’s perception model. One of the most common forms of the author’s intention in the hagiographic exordium is to build reader’s perception with a thematic key. There are two ways to use a thematic key in an exordium in the hagiographic works of Kyivan Rus in the 11th–13th centuries. They are amplifi cation and singulation. The second most prevalent form of intention to the reader is ars-poetica. This is special motivating reasoning in the introductory part of the medieval literary work in which the writer states his aesthetic program of realizing the concept of beauty in writing. The least common form of the author’s intention in the hagiographic exordium is an encouraging appeal to the reader. The research shows that different forms of hagiographic introduction have different strategies of the author’s intentions to the reader. This is preparing the reader for a certain perception of the events with the help of biblical quotations; pointing out the secondary nature of the author’s work and asking the readers to pray (maybe even correct the writing); inviting readers to refl ect on the life of the saints.
