Anthropogenic impact is the consequence of nutrients, toxic and organic matter entering aquatic environment. The ways of those substances’ entering the sea may be different: terrigenous run-off, atmospheric transport and transport from other regions with sea water etc. For coastal zones and estuarine areas of the sea the main sources of pollution are terrigenous run-off and river flow, as well as industrial and domestic wastewaters from big cities and ports. For the shelf zone, especially in the open part of the sea, one of the main pollution sources is atmospheric input, which forms as the result of pollutants long-range transport from industrial regions of European Continent and especially from the Black Sea riparian countries. The main aim of the study was to assess quality of atmospheric precipitation by beans of measuring of rainwater ionic composition, which will help to assess in future the flows of pollutants to the Black Sea in the Zmiinyi Island area.
