Pilgrim prose continues traditions of the archaic genre of the guide-book, the structural basis of which is narration about the way which connects a person with the world. In spite of recoding of the model of the world and a person according to Christian symbolism, the Kyivan Rus' journey of father superior Danylo of the beginning of the 12th century keeps the mythopoetic narrative model which points on the utilitarian and not only sacred ritual text destination.
