«Виколисаний у її лоні» - саме так назвав свою статтю, присвячену перебуванню М. Старицького в Одесі, мій вчитель і науковий керівник І. Дузь. Ця стаття з’явилась в газеті «Літературна Одеса» в 1994 році. Вона розпочинається словами самого М. Старицького: «Я виколисаний у її лоні, та хіба тільки я? Своїми грудьми вона годувала нас. На своїх грудях наші голови пестила і гріла..»1. Це дійсно так, бо театральні трупи, створені М. Старицьким з великим тріумфом гастролювали в Одесі. Перебування відомого діяча театральної справи залишили помітний слід на сторінках одеської преси, а також місцевих видань, що друкували твори драматурга і рецензії на них. Спробуємо поринути в театральне життя Одеси крізь дослідження зв’язків М. Старицького з причорноморським містом.
