In the article the history of Budzhak is researched, beginning from the border of ages and till the beginning of V century. In the period of border of ages – the first half of I century A. D. the territory of Budzhak in the context of its occupation density represented bleak picture. The main centers of ancient people functioning in the region at that time were the Low Dniester area, where ancient Tiras was situated and the Low Danube area, where on the left shore of Danube near the modern village Orlovka Geto-Dacian fortress possibly functioned. As regards the steppes between Low Danube and Low Dniester, the significant material traces of settled population there are not fixed. From the middle of I century A.D. the political situation in North-Western Black Sea region, and, partly, in Budzhak, essentially changed, that was connected with the significant strengthening of Ancient Rome influence in marked time and with the appearing the new Sarmatian (Alanian) horde headed by king Farzoy. In 86th year Tiras allotted the roman province Low Mesia, and in Low Dniester region between the middle of 60-s and the middle of 80-es years, on its right shore the Late Scythians population was appearing. In the last third of II – the first half of III century in-between rivers Danube and Dniester became the area of Sarmatians activity, what archeological sources are demonstrated. These nomads removed to the territory in the last third of II century from the more northern regions, namely in-between rivers Middle Prut and Dniester. Near the middle of III century in Budzhak antiquities of Etuliya type appeared, which reflected several migration waves of agricultural population to this territory, and in the beginning of second third of IV century, the researched territory was settled by Chernyakhov population, which existed here until the beginning of V century.
