Results of analysis of many years’ pike-perch and pike catches in the Lower Dnister have been presented. Decrease of these fish species catches has been shown for the period 2007-2016. According to the data received the basis of current yield of pike-perch (74.1%) and pike (72.3%) is formed by individuals in age of 2+ and 3+. Keeping in mind the fact that indicators of catches show a trend towards decrease we presume that elimination as the result of natural and mortality and death by capture are not compensated for by reproduction; significant decrease of pike-perch and pike catches is caused by increase of pressure from commercial fishery, uncontrolled pouching and angling, as well as lower spawning efficiency under unsatisfactory hydrological regime in the Lower Dniester basin. |
