Депортація українців у 1944-1947 рр. – одна з трагічних тем у вітчизняній та польській історіографії. За статистикою та
описом подій – тисячі знедолених людей, які вимушені були залишити свої домівки, господарство, змінити чи навіть позбутися
звичного укладу життя. Переселення західноукраїнського населення у 1944-1947 рр. з Надсяння, Холмщини, Підляшшя та Лемківщини стало помітною подією в економічному і культурному житті ряду областей УРСР та Одеської області зокрема.
The Ukrainian resettlement movement of 1944-1947 is one of the tragic and politically engaged issues of Ukrainian and Polish history. Under the actual recording of events and statistics, there are thousands of people who were forced to leave their homes, farm, to change or even to lose their way of life. Resettlement of the population of Western Ukraine in 1944-1947 from Nadsyanya, Kholmschiny, Podlyashie and Lemkovshchiny, had a quite significantly influence on the ethnic composition of a number of regions of the Ukrainian SSR and the Odessa region in particular. The purpose of this article is to consider the national, social, professional, educational composition of Ukrainian immigrants from Western Ukraine. The presence of the transferred property and the order of performance of the husbandry became important components of the Ukrainian resettlement process in 1944-1947, as people were able to engage in labor activity under the appropriate conditions. According to the author of the article, the resettlement of Ukrainians to the Odessa region played a positive role on the recovery of Odessa region which suffered badly during the Second World War.
